The last few days, have been the hardest I have ever experienced in my life and It made me sit and evaluate my life in a way I have never done before. I lost the only grandma' I have ever known and It really shook me up because I was fortunate enough to take after her ethnic name and still be with her till the day she left for the hospital and passed on a few hours later. But on the morning of her burial, we got attacked by thugs at home and I really thought I would lose my brother as they mercilessy injured him, but a surgery later hes doing really well and I can only thank God for the far He's brought us.....Every new day I can only be grateful for the gift of life. In this post, its all about the dark moments gearing up to the grey shades and hopefully for the brighter days to come. All i can do is thank all my closest friends and family for being there for me through It all and for the strength this adversity has given us all and brought together my family.

I got a confession to make, I love me some rugby.....and its not about the well built men running around with an egg shaped ball (okay who am I kidding) its a plus though *wink. When I want to unwind, its the surest way of letting go. So this Saturday, I was at the RFUEA grounds rooting for my team, which eventually lost *sad sigh* but too much fun to dampen my spirits. I was looking for something uber comfortable, stylish and still girly at the same time. So, i opted for this stripped maxi, fitting and with a pencil hem. I always find that black and white stripes always go well with bold hues, hence the edgy red flatties and the neon green skinny belt. For a summer chic look, I added the straw fedora and the vintage chanel hobo cross body bag and finish it off with a bold lip. My accessories were few; i love this hello kitty pendant....its sooo cute, a cross ring and tiny neon pink earrings. CLOSET;
Stripped maxi- Thrifted Fedora- Gikomba Neon belt- Gikomba Red flatties- Toi market Earrings, cross ring- Excel shopping mall Hobo bag- Vintage chanel This past Saturday was my birthday and boy did I have a moment. Its one of those eerie feelings when you get to reflect how far you have come, what is done and yet to be done. The people in my life, who mean the world to me and just a thank you note for all you out there who believe in me and are super fans of my blog......God bless you all. When it comes to my fashion sense....as i grow older, so does it, and I find myself getting attracted to more demure, classic feel of style. The secret is always to embrace it rather than dress for the wrong age. In this outfit post, I saw myself going for a neon lace pink skirt, something i have not done in a very long while. To avoid feeling all skimpy, i paired it up with an oversize white sheer lace top to balance off the outfit. I grabbed my cobalt blue court heels and a gold clutch and I was ready to shwish the day away. The accessories comprised of cobalt blue pearls turn to a bracelet, a bronze belt turned to a bracelet and a boyfriend watch. Then, a color blocked neckpiece and gold clutch both gifted by my dear, sweet friend and fellow fashionista julez from a trip to Thailand. CLOSET:
Neon pink mini- H&M Lace white top- Thrifted Neckpiece & Clutch- Gifted This was a simple outfit for one of those hot days, we have bee experiencing *before the rain started in the evening and i freezed to bits* I forgot my jacket and well, i paid for it with the case of the chillys. Anywho, I went for a high- low black sheer vest and denim jeans. The accessories were color popping, to add an ooomph to the dull outfit and make it more glam without doing too much! Am in love with this purple pinkish lipstick, I added the neon pink earrings to complement it The oversize floral purse...is a carry it all though....the arms tire very fast, its overly fit for most occasions even night events! Finally, the bronze ruffled peeptoe booties,I thought the peep toe would show some skin especially since i was basically covered up. CLOSET:
Hi-Lo Vest- Machakos flea market Denim- Toi Market Bronze Booties- Chinese Laundry Blue & White pearls- DIY Neon pink earrings- Perida Centre Oversize Purse- Toi Market Thanks for stopping by, ChezMaureen! I find styling jumpsuits to be really tricky, you have to consider your shape and figure, otherwise you find your self in some fashion police cap. This was my outfit for my brother's graduation,I got this butter yellow one in my thrifting escapades....its a lil' baggy which i prefer because it doesn't crinkle around the hip and thigh area. I particularly loved the collars at the front and back. The back is has a low neck while the front is shorter and peter pan. I threw in the jungle green vest to bring some seriousness to the outfit, but threw it off when it got extra warm I did the little pops of color by adding a neon pink skinny belt, color blocked earrings and the cobalt blue platforms and matching tweed purse borrowed from my sisters closet. I totally love the back it soo party at the back while business at the front. I added a tangerine scarf with black polka dots to serve as my hair band. CLOSET:

Its one of those fabrics thats here to stay and will always re occur in runways time after time. The skirt i have done it before in a post before so this time i decided to spice the outfit up and pair it with this black lace blouse. I added a neon pink belt to bring that pop of color Then.....i carried this white vintage bag with flame details and finished it off with these orange suede bow heels Then my oh so lovely kitenge earrings from Bri's African Relics collection CLOSET:

Mine was quite a mixture of sorts but yesterday crowned my weekend up. I met my gals and its never anything short of amaze balls when we get to catch up and all esp since one of us just jetted back into the country from abroad. I decided to do a lil bit of everything, color,demin, the sweater, nautical stripes..... I love this tangerine capris.....and I paired em with this turqoise knit sweater that is quite my fave knit oflate I had a nautical hi-low stripped shirt inside and it was quite chillly in the evening so the sweater came in handy and I totally forgot to take it off as i was taking the pics. I then added a neon pink scarf to add some color and ummmph to it. And finally my geeks and a janelle monae inspired hairstyle, then my nude and white sling backs. And oh....not forgetting the teal purse. My sweater is baggy and it looked funny when i tucked it in, but i did not want to belt it up so i added a brooch at the back.
This outfit combines four of my favorite trends of 2012; pleats, the maxi skirt, prints and color blocking. I decided to do a spring combination of colors.....the cobalt blue skirt with a mint green blouse. I tied the blouse to elongate the midriff and steer away from the outfit looking too officy What i love most about maxi skirts is that they are versatile and can be dressed up for a night out or down for a low key look. I went for the casual look in this post I added a pop of neon pink with the belt and head scarf for some ooomph I carried a printed oversized purse with an array of lovely colors to navigate from the spring look i had on. My accessories were very minimal, just a burgundy red bracelet and a bronze ring. Not forgetting the platforms.....i got this babies just the other day and and am in love with the turqoise green suede blended with the florals heel Finished it off with off-white earrings and a bold scarlet red lip
